For Immediate Release The Motorcycle Riders Foundation Political Action Committee (MRFPAC) has voted to endorse John Gard in the contest for the open seat in the 8th Congressional District in Wisconsin. John Gard has been strongly supported by ABATE of Wisconsin for man y years. Mr. Gard’s long history of supporting motorcyclists through the legislative activities of ABATE weighed heavily in the decision.
The 8th congressional district of Wisconsin is being vacated by Mark Green (R) who is running for governor of Wisconsin. Green is a longtime motorcycle supporter a recipient of the MRF Congressional Champion award.
“We have every reason to believe that John Gard will continue to be a tiresome advocate of motorcycling in his soon to be future role in Washington just as he has in the past” Said Jeff Hennie, Vice President Government Relations.
The MRF has also agreed to support the Gard campaign with a monetary donation that will be presented by ABATE of Wisconsin members on behalf of the MRF PAC.
The MRF PAC is funded solely through individual donations made directly to the PAC. MRF PAC will consider any donation requests submitted to MRF PAC by any
supporting state motorcycle rights organization.
The MRF is looking forward to working with the Gard team during the election process and in Washington D. C.
after your victory.

Instead of buying "Pam" or any other cooking spray, put your favorite cooking oil in a spray bottle. Does the same job for less money....
Sheets of aluminum foil have a mind of their own at times, crinkling and folding in every direction. To line a cookie sheet, broiling pan or roasting pan, invert the pan and press the foil over the pan bottom.
Once the foil is molded over the bottom, slide it right in when you turn the pan over.

From
Wrestling News Today
World Wrestling Entertainment recently sent TNA wrestler Kurt Angle a nasty legal letter with a series of demands.
All of their demands aren't quite known yet, but here are the demands known thus far.
WWE demanded that Angle and TNA not refer to his ankle lock finisher as the "Angle lock." Angle laughed at that one because he had no idea that anyone called his finisher the "Angle lock" to begin with it, thinking it's always been the ankle lock. WWE also demanded that Angle not call himself "The Wrestling Machine," or "The Machine."
Surprisingly, they didn't object to him wearing a mouth- piece, but it can't have "Machine" written on it.
Also, we should find out soon if WWE claimed ownership to the term "Angle slam" and if he'll have to use a new name for the manuever. WWE can probably rightfully claim owner- ship to that term. Also note, the U.S. Olympic committee probably wouldn't allow TNA to use the term "Olympic
slam." |
| The American Motorcyclist Association (AMA) reminds you that the all important mid-term elections are happening this month and despite the rhetoric, negative advertising, and other electioneering that seems endless – it is imperative that all motorcyclists exercise their right to vote. Close, contested elections in Florida in 2000 and in Ohio in 2004 highlighted the specific need for each and every person to vote for pro-motorcycling officials from your local city council, to your county commissioners all the way to the members of the US Congress. The future of motorcycling is in your hands and the AMA sincerely hopes you will join us on November 7, 2006 in the voting booth protecting your right to ride. |
FLORIDA KEYS – Continuing their commitment to preserve environmentally-sensitive lands in the Florida Keys, Governor Jeb Bush and the Florida Cabinet voted on Tuesday to acquire more than 51 acres as part of the Florida Keys Ecosystem Florida Forever project. With more than 3,950 feet of waterfront property combined, the properties are part of an accelerated plan to preserve almost 12,000 acres along the 106-mile chain of islands.
“Continued growth throughout the Florida Keys means it is more important than ever to protect sensitive land by placing it into public ownership for perpetuity,” said Secretary Castille. “By purchasing properties such as these, Florida is preserving both the wildlife and plant habitat as well as the environmental and economic value of the area.” The Florida Keys Ecosystem Florida Forever project stretches from South Key Largo to Boca Chica Key, encompassing parcels of West Indian plants and some of the largest remaining tracts of undeveloped hardwood hammocks. The habitats support more than 60 rare and endangered plants and animals, including the Lower Keys marsh rabbit, Key deer and white-crowned pigeon.

California has enacted a law supporting the goals of the AMA's "Justice for All" campaign. California SB-1021, which was signed into law by Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger on September 30, imposes additional fines when a motorist is convicted of a traffic offense that causes "bodily injury" or "serious bodily injury" to another person.
The new law also mandates that the California Driver's Handbook and the curriculum of traffic-violator schools include information about "respecting the right-of-way of others, particularly pedestrians, bicycle riders, and motorcycle riders." The bill becomes effective January 1, 2007.
The AMA recognizes the legislative leadership shown by bill sponsor Senator Debra Bowen (D-28) and co-sponsor Assembly Member Bonnie Garcia (R-80), along with the activism of ABATE of California, in achieving this victory.
California joins 15 other states in passing legislation that supports the goals of Justice for All: Arkansas, Georgia, Iowa, Louisiana, Maine, Missouri, New Hampshire, New York, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Washington, West Virginia, and Wisconsin. |
Baking Soda
To help eliminate odors, sprinkle a full box of baking soda over dry carpet and let it sit for about 15 minutes before vacuuming.
Pour a mixture of 1/2 cup baking soda and 1/2 cup salt followed by boiling water down a clogged drain. Let it sit overnight and flush it with tap water in the morning. |

The project also helps protect the Outstanding Florida Waters of the Keys, recreational and commercial fisheries and the coral reefs off the island shores. More than 5,181 acres of the project are already in public ownership. |
