Dutch charge teenage hacker suspects By Reuters
Dutch authorities have charged two teenagers with cybercrimes on suspicion of bringing down government Web sites last month by flooding them with traffic, public prosecutor said Friday.
The boys from the southern Dutch town of Breda were arrested earlier this week after a raid on their houses in which computers were confiscated. There could be more arrests, the public prosecution service said.

The two are believed to have hacked into other computers to launch a mass visit to government Web sites, which collapsed under the strain.

The attacks on the Web Sites coincided with protests against government plans to overhaul the social security system that drew 250,000 people to a weekend demonstration in Amsterdam.

Prime Minister Jan Peter Balkenende and other ministers had to change mobile telephone numbers after a list circulated on the Internet invited protesters to send a barrage of text messages.

Cybercriminals in the Netherlands risk up to a year in jail under a new law forbidding the distribution of spam messages which overload networks and cause computers to crash

McCracken charged with stabbing man By CINDY SCHARR ,
Terence D. McCracken, convicted then acquitted of murder in a highly publicized case here nearly a decade ago, was arrested in Lancaster Monday for allegedly stabbing a man he believed to be a rival biker.
McCracken, who Lancaster police describe as a sergeant at arms in the Hell’s Angels biker gang, was arrested early Monday. He is being held in Lancaster County Prison on $250,000 cash bail.
The stabbing took place at about 11 p.m. Nov. 4.

A man, wearing a "support your tribe" shirt, was sitting at the Blue Star Hotel bar when McCracken walked in, according to Detective Sgt. Pete Anders.

According to Anders, the man wasn’t wearing Pagan colors, but a shirt referring to an off-branch of the biker gang. He also claimed to have no involvement with the Pagans.

When McCracken saw the man’s shirt, he allegedly pulled out a gun and threatened him.

Shoving the gun in his side, McCracken allegedly said, "Are you looking for a problem?" When the man said no, McCracken allegedly said, "That’s good cause I’ll blow your f.. guts out."

When the man said he’d leave, McCracken told him he could stay if he turned his shirt inside out, Anders said.

When the man and his friend began to leave, McCracken turned and confronted his friend, Anders said. A verbal confrontation ensued, during which McCracken allegedly pulled out a knife and stabbed the second man in the torso.

Both men left the bar and drove to a local hospital. On their way there, McCracken allegedly pulled up beside of their car and pointed a gun at them, but didn’t shoot.

As a safe alternative to mothballs, you can make your own herbal sachets to fend off clothes moths. (Commercial mothballs have an unpleasant odor and can discolor the very clothing they protect. Even worse, they contain some very potent — and potentially poisonous — chemicals, naphthalene and paradichlorobenzene.)

Preparation time: 20 minutes Yield: 8 moth repellent sachets
1/4 cup dried lavender flowers
10 drops lavender oil
10 drops cedarwood oil
8 fabric squares, each about 6 inches square
8 pieces of string (or ribbon), 8 inches long

Did you know?
"Accolade" was borrowed into English in the 17th century from French. The French noun in turn derives from the verb "accoler," which means "to embrace," and ultimately from the Latin term "collum," meaning "neck." ("Collum" is also an ancestor of the English word "collar.") When it was first borrowed from French, "accolade" referred to a ceremonial embrace that once marked the conferring of knighthood. The term was later extended to any ceremony conferring knighthood (such as the more familiar tapping on the shoulders with the flat blade of a sword), and eventually extended to honors or awards in general.
