If you want to scan Windows XP, you may discover it does not include scandisk. However, it does have an error checking feature you can run. Be prepared though, error checking can take hours. To access it:

1. Click on "Start" and then "My Computer".

2. In the My Computer window, right click on the drive you want to run scandisk on, and click on "Properties".

3. In the drive properties window, click on the "Tools" tab.
In the "Error Checking" section, click the button that says "check now".

4. A new window will appear with two options, one is to automatically fix file system errors and the other is to scan for and detect problems with the hard drive. I would recommended that you select them both.

5. Click the start button and scandisk will run.

Cyclist hit 155 mph on Interstate 75, FHP says

STAFF REPORT

SARASOTA COUNTY -- A motorcyclist was driving 137 mph on Interstate 75 Saturday morning, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

And when state troopers tried to stop him, he punched the gas.

Luis Renato Machado, of Fort Myers, used the center lane and shoulder of I-75 to dodge cars and troopers as he sped north, reaching speeds of 155 mph as he crossed Charlotte and Sarasota counties.

The chase started in Lee County at about 10 a.m. when a Florida Highway Patrol pilot spotted the speeding motorcycle and sent patrol cars to give him a ticket. The troopers finally caught up to Machado when they say he ran a red light and slammed into a van.

The pilot kept a close eye on Machado during the entire chase, an FHP report says. Troopers in patrol cars hung back, hoping Machado would stop if he didn't see any law enforcement behind him, according to the report.

Machado tried to lose troopers in Venice by getting off the interstate and then getting right back on, the report says.

Machado exited the interstate again at Clark Road in Sarasota.

He ran a red light at the Gantt Road intersection and crashed into a van, according to FHP. Machado suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the van was not injured.

Machado was taken to Doctors Hospital of Sarasota and charged with several traffic violations, including felony speeding and aggravated fleeing from law enforcement.

The driver of the van was charged with driving with a suspended license and driving without insurance.

Most lizards, especially those taken from the wild, bite, scratch, or whip a captor with their tail. Although any one of these actions is inconsequential when it involves a lizard that is only a few inches long, a bite from a lizard that is 15 or 20 inches long or larger can be painful. If the lizard is the size of an adult Nile monitor or a big male green iguana, the bite can be dangerous. Even "tame" green iguanas have been known to turn on their owners without warning, and in some cases, they did enough damage before they could be controlled that the owner had to undergo plastic surgery to correct the disfigurement caused by the lizard. Additionally, being struck by the whipping tail of a good-sized iguana or adult Nile monitor can be painful. Being struck by the spike-studded tail of a foot-long spiny-tailed agamid or a sungazer will catch your attention!

12 March 2006 HELLS ANGELS' FURY OVER MICKEY-TAKE Edited By Billy Sloan And Mickey Mcmonagle HELL'S bells - the world's most notorious motorbike outlaws are suing Mickey Mouse.

The Hells Angels claim Walt Disney's planned movie about a group of motorcycle riders called "Wild Hogs" has stolen their gang's identity.

A Disney spokesman said the claim was without merit.

On the internet, the film is described as a story about "a group of middle-aged wannabe bikers looking for adventure out on the open road, where they encounter a chapter of the Hells Angels".

In the lawsuit filed in California, the Hells Angels Motorcycle Corp say the movie characters wear Hells Angels logos.

NASA probe 'dodges bullet' to achieve Mars orbit

By Reuters
Story last modified Sat Mar 11 09:00:29 PST 2006 A $450 million NASA spacecraft dropped smoothly into orbit around Mars on Friday, successfully completing a risky make-or-break maneuver in its two-year mission to search the red planet for life and find landing spots for future astronauts.
Mission controllers at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena erupted in cheers when the Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter, which left Earth in August, signaled that it had achieved orbit around a planet that has defeated two-thirds of the probes sent there.

To keep summer drinks from getting weakened and "watered down" from melting ice cubes, I freeze some of the same liquid (ice tea, Kool-aid, etc.) in Ice cube trays. Then when you add the "ice cubes" to your drink, it won't get weakened and "watered down". Now that they are making the small "bottle-sized" ice cube trays, you can add the flavored ice cubes to your sports bottles.  Cleaning Disinfectant : Vinegar (either white or cider)
is the best disinfectant around. It beats anything man made and is certainly healthier and cheaper, use vinegar all around the house to disinfect and clean many surfaces, although don't use this on furniture made with fabric.
You can use vinegar straight or equal parts vinegar and water.
