If you have chronic hepatitis C, your symptoms can be bothersome and, in some cases, debilitating. Chronic hepatitis C disease has many symptoms. The most common are fatigue (which is more than tiredness and persists even after a good night's sleep), nausea and vomiting, muscle and joint aches, itchy skin, fluid retention, brain fog (loss of concentration, ability to focus, or remember), and depression.

Along with problems with your liver, you may have other illnesses that are associated with hepatitis C. These are called extrahepatic diseases because they're not strictly liver (hepatic) diseases and include diseases of the skin or kidneys.

Find the information and support you need with the help of Living with Hepatitis C For Dummies, by Nina L. Paul, PhD.

Avoid moving anything you don't really need. It is expensive, time-consuming, and physically unnecessary to move things you won't be using. If you don't use it now, you most likely won't use it later.

CHARLOTTETOWN - The Hells Angels Motorcycle Gang has set up a clothing and merchandise shop on Prince Edward Island.

Supporters of the notorious outlaw biker club can now purchase everything from Hells Angels belt buckles to T-shirts, and calendars, at a store called Route 81

And police say patronizing the shop amounts to supporting organized crime.

It's the latest concept conjured up by the Hells Angels.

Route 81 stores are sprouting up all over Canada. One opened in Toronto last year, a Moncton franchise in January, and the next one will open in Halifax.

Warning signs of ischemic stroke may appear as early as seven days before an attack and must be treated immediately to prevent brain damage, scientists say. Their study of stroke patients, published in Neurology, notes 80 percent of strokes are ischemic, caused by the narrowing of the large or small arteries of the brain or by clots that block blood flow to the brain. They are often preceded by a transient ischemic attack, a "warning stroke" or "mini- stroke" that shows symptoms similar to a stroke, typically lasts less than five minutes and does not injure the brain.

TIA symptoms include sudden numbness or weakness of the face, arm or leg, especially on one side of the body, confusion or problems understanding, difficulty speaking, vision difficulty in one or both eyes, dizziness, loss of balance or coordina- tion or difficulty walking, severe headache with no apparent cause. Treatment should begin within hours of the onset of these symptoms to prevent a stroke, says Dr. Peter Rothwell of Radcliffe Infirmary in Oxford, England.

A former world sumo wrestling champion in New York has set out to get back to his fighting weight of 550 pounds, but needs to lose 237 pounds to do it. Already certified by the Guinness Book of World Records as the world's largest athlete, Manny Yarbrough -- who goes by the name Tiny -- embarked on his weight loss journey in New York Tuesday at a Times Square weigh-in. It was also the launch of a television reality show, "Get Tiny," which will chronicle the 40-year-old's shrinkage in a bid to be part of the 2008 Olympics.

ASSOCIATED PRESS
11:12 a.m. March 19, 2005 LAS VEGAS – A federal jury has decided Harrah's Laughlin hotel-casino cannot be held responsible for the death of a motorcycle gang member during a 2002 melee between the Mongols and the Hells Angels.

Yvette Barreras had filed a federal lawsuit against the casino, claiming Harrah's security officials knew weeks before the annual Laughlin River Run of the potential for violence between the rival gangs and did little to increase security.

But on Friday, jurors took little more than an hour to determine Harrah's was not at fault in the death of Anthony Barreras, a 43-year-old member of the Mongols who was stabbed in the chest during the brawl.

Hotel surveillance shows bikers wielding firearms, knives and clubs in a chaotic scene in the early morning hours of April 27, 2002. In all, two people were killed and 13 hospitalized.

During the trial, hotel lawyers argued the casino was not negligent, that security at any casino wouldn't have prevented the fight and it was far-fetched to think metal detectors should have been installed at the casino entrance.

"We're obviously pleased with the jury's verdict, and believe they reached the correct conclusion," said David Strow, spokesman for Harrah's Entertainment Inc. "We believe the jury's decision reaffirms the fact that these events were unforeseeable."

Word of the Day

indoctrinate \in-DAHK-truh-nayt\ verb

1 : to instruct especially in fundamentals or rudiments : teach
*2 : to imbue with a usually partisan or sectarian opinion, point of view, or principle
Example sentence:
New hires were indoctrinated with the company's philosophy during a two-day orientation.

Did you know?
"Indoctrinate" simply means "brainwash" to many people. But its meaning isn't always so negative. When this verb first appeared in English in the 17th century, it simply meant "to teach" — a meaning that followed logically from its Latin root. The "doc" in the middle of "indoctrinate" derives from the Latin verb "docere," which also means "to teach." Other offspring of "docere" include "docent" (referring to a college professor or a museum guide), "docile," "doctor," "doctrine," and "document." It was not until the 19th century that "indoctrinate" began to see regular use in the sense of causing someone to absorb and take on certain opinions or principles.
