Rights Rally & State Meeting
As the world speeds towards the day when more Net-enabled devices exist than the Internet's core protocol (IP version 4) can uniquely address, a second round of testing has been completed on the technology slated to cure the problem: IPv6. The testbed, dubbed Moonv6, is an IPv6 backbone stretching from New Hampshire to California that has so far proved capable of easing the transition from IPv4 to IPv6 by supporting both protocols simultaneously. Though few American companies have asked for IPv6 support, interest is rising, particularly because of the protocol's inherent support for encryption, a weakness in IPv4 that has required convuluted workarounds to secure technologies like WiFi-based wireless networking. With the advent of spring and its accompanying showers, umbrellas soon will be spouting everywhere. The umbrella has been around since ancient Egypt, and its original purpose was to protect people from the sun, according to the U.S. Bureau of the Census. Most U.S. residents use umbrellas to keep from getting drenched. Many think Seattle might have the most annual rainfall; but its 37 inches is nothing compared to the 66 inches of Mobile, Ala., and the 64 inches of rain in New Orleans. It was peaceful, but
tension among motorcycle gangs is escalating, raising fears of
violence. Action News reporter David Henry talked exclusively to the
Hell's Angels Monday night. Action News caught up with the Hell's
Angels at their clubhouse in West Philadelphia. Despite threats from
their rivals, they say they're here to stay.
The police were everywhere this past weekend
as the Hell's Angels celebrated their one year anniversary at a social
hall in South Philadelphia.
Nearly 200 Angels showed up at the party.
Uniformed and undercover police almost outnumbered them. They were
trying to prevent a repeat of the violence that rocked a Hell's Angels
party on Long Island three years ago. One man was killed and 70 were
arrested when the Pagans crashed the party. The man who heads the local Pagans will soon
he back on the scene. Steve "Gorilla" Mondevergine comes off
Federal Probation in May. He's on the record as saying the Pagans will
show the Angels who owns this town. More on Jerklaw |

:Send Guns, Lawyers, Money
and Mace to the Gators:
(3-23-2004) - The NHRA is investigating an incident that happened on Sunday at the NHRA Mac Tools Gatornationals in the Pro Stock Bike pits. Reportedly, Pro Stock racer Rickie Smith was maced by a member of Pro Stock Bike rider Shawn Gann's crew. According to sources close to the incident, Smith confronted Gann on the return road regarding an incident where Matt Smith's helmet was kicked. According to Smith, he was then maced despite his contention there was no weapon in his hand, nor did he raise his hand to strike anyone. Gann could not be reached for comment. Sources close to the situation said the NHRA has investigated and will soon pass on a ruling. Smith would not comment further saying that everything is in the hands of the lawyers and that this will end up in court. The 43-year-old prospect member of the Hells Angels' Nomads appeared to burst out laughing from behind the thick glass of the soundproof prisoner's dock when prosecutor Madeleine Giauque let it be known she is seeking a 24-year sentence to go with Bordeleau's jury conviction on charges of conspiring to commit murder, conspiring to traffic in drugs and participating in gang activities. Bordeleau is among nine members of the Hells Angels and their affiliate Rockers who were convicted this month on the same charges. Bordeleau had the same reaction - he even actually slapped his knee - when Giauque informed Justice Pierre Béliveau she is seeking a 29-year sentence, the most severe of the nine, in the case of Richard (Dick) Mayrand, 40, a full-patch member of the Nomads. If Béliveau accepts the sentencing recommendations on Mayrand and Bordeleau, they would be the toughest punishments meted out so far in connection with Operation Springtime 2001, a police sweep. Toledo- The jailed leader of the Outlaws motorcycle club oversaw a violent "rogue nation" that sold drugs throughout the Midwest in the 1990s, prosecutors said Tuesday at a federal racketeering trial. Thirteen other members of the Outlaws are accused of racketeering in a case that prosecutors hope will lead to the dismantling of the club's networks. Defense attorneys said Tuesday that the government built its case on the testimony of former Outlaws members trying to save themselves from prison. It's the second time in less than a year that international president James "Frank" Wheeler has been on trial. He was sentenced to 16˝ years in prison in January for racketeering and other crimes in Florida. The Outlaws are one of the nation's four largest motorcycle gangs, along with the Hell's Angels, the Pagans and the Bandidos. They have chapters in 20 states, Europe, Canada and Australia. In the case before U.S. District court here, prosecutors say the Outlaws sold cocaine, marijuana and LSD while threatening and assaulting rivals to protect their territory. "In many respects, they were a nation at war," said U.S. Assistant Attorney Joseph Wilson. "The Outlaws were a rogue nation in our nation." A man was brought before the judge and charged with necrophilia. The judge told him, "In 20 years on the bench, I've never heard such a disgusting, immoral thing. Just give me one good reason why I shouldn't lock you up and throw away the key!" The man replied, "I'll give you THREE good reasons: #1, It's none of your damn business; #2, She was my wife; and..... #3, I didn't KNOW she was dead, she ALWAYS acted that
way!" |
