As announced on RAW, Jerry Lawler will assume the role previously assigned to Ross-hosting the Hall Of Fame ceremony.
Joey Styles was informed of WWE's plans Monday at RAW.
Although the removal is a huge blow to Styles' status as the show's lead announcer, Ross' stature with the company alleviates some of the harm. |
Charges Against Hells Angels, Mongols Dismissed March 27, 2006, 10:24 PM CST The Nevada State Supreme Court has dismissed a murder count against 14 Hells Angels and Mongols motorcycle gang members. The charge stemmed from the brawl at Harrah's during the 2002 Laughlin River Run that left three bikers dead.
Justices also ordered revisions to many of the 52 remaining counts against biker gang members.
The count charging those accused of being involved in the stabbing death of mongols member anthony barrera was erased because the high court ruled it wasn't quote "precise as to who is alleged to have done what."
France and Monaco Public Announcement March 27, 2006 This Public Announcement is issued to alert Americans to ongoing security concerns in France. Demonstrations, sometimes involving violence, have occurred and continue to occur in Paris and other large cities in France in opposition to a new law concerning employment contracts for young workers. This Public Announcement will expire on April 30, 2006.
Recent demonstrations have occurred at times in areas frequented by tourists. Some of the demonstrations may be announced, while others may be spontaneous. Police have responded by using tear gas. U.S. Embassy personnel have been advised to avoid all demonstrations and large gatherings.
The Department of State advises U.S. citizens traveling or residing in France to avoid areas where crowds are expected to gather, to exercise caution, particularly during evening and nighttime hours, and to closely follow media reports.
FLFLHTC: What the hell would any
red-blooded American be doing going to France for anyway.
Pilling is caused by items rubbing against each other in the washer and dryer. Prevent it by turning
suscep- tible clothes inside out and washing them in a mesh bag or a drawstring pillowcase.
Cleaning behind your refrigerator will keep it running longer and more efficiently. Another fridge cleaning tip:
Make sure the unit is level. An unlevel refrigerator works harder than it needs to and wastes energy.
When baking, oven heat can be lowered 25° if you use glass or ceramic baking dishes, they retain heat better than roasting pans. This helps save on your gas bill.
Never throw out a toothbrush. Use it to dust, clean and scrub small hard to get to places. Use it on dishes, the stove, woodwork. Rub stain remover into laundry with one.

MONTREAL -- Hells Angels bikers, once the scourge of Quebec, are rebuilding after their ranks were decimated five years ago in the Operation Springtime police crackdown.
Although a number of the imprisoned bikers will be locked up for more than 20 years, others have started to trickle out and the gang's visibility is beginning to grow.
"It's started already since the beginning of the year," said Guy Ouellette, one of the top experts on outlaw bikers in Canada. "They show their colours everywhere they go."
But the notorious Nomad chapter, led by the swaggering -- and now imprisoned -- Maurice (Mom) Boucher is history.
"The best thing about Springtime (is) the Nomad chapter doesn't exist anymore," said Ouellette, a retired Quebec provincial police officer. "The name Nomad will never be seen again in Quebec."
Gang emblems, which have been scarce since police slapped handcuffs on more than 100 bikers on March 28,
2001, are starting to reappear, but the gang isn't grabbing headlines with as much zeal as before.
The Springtime raids were the largest push against the bikers in Canada and involved more than 2,000 police officers. It particularly targeted the notorious Nomad chapter, composed of the so-called generals in the bloody eight-year biker turf war, which cost 165 lives, including that of a child who was a bystander to a car bombing.
Quebec had to build a special courthouse to accommodate the following mega-trials.
There's little interest in reviving the Nomads, said Ouelette.
"It brings too much attention from police agencies," he said. "When you talk about Nomads, you're talking about the biker war, you're talking about death, innocent victims. The name Nomad will never be used again."
Ontario has taken over from Quebec as the province which has the most bikers, but Det.-Insp. Don Bell of the Ontario Provincial Police Biker Enforcement Unit says there's no hint of shenanigans like in Quebec.
Sixteen of the Hells' 34 Canadian chapters are in Ontario and they are about to add two more, said Ouellette.
Staff-Sgt. Bob Bazin, director of the Criminal Intelligence Service Saskatchewan, said police in Western Canada also hammer away at the bikers and noted there have been several operations against them in B.C. in recent years.
"A lot of their big-name players are ending up in court now so that tends to keep things quiet."
Ouellette said there's no possibility Quebec will ever return to the level of gang carnage seen in the biker war.
He said police continually adjust their tactics and are going after the gangs and their leadership in a systemic way.
"It's paid off over the years, but it's a constant battle," he said.

Vince McMahon Not To Face Sexual Harassment Charges Story By: Ben Johnson
WWE Chairman Vince McMahon will not face charges for an alleged sexual harassment incident, reports Florida's WPTV.
The State Attorney's office cited insufficient evidence for its decision to refrain from pursuing a case against the WWE boss.
A 22-year-old woman accused McMahon of attempting to grope her at the "Tanzabar" tanning salon in Boca Raton. He also allegedly showed her nude self portraits from his cellular phone. |

Keep 70 mph on I-75, DOT advises
By DALE WHITE
Most drivers on Interstate 75 in Sarasota and Manatee counties exceed the 70 mph speed limit, and lowering it is unlikely to improve safety, the Florida Department of Transportation reported Monday.
Drivers tend to go between 72 and 78 mph on six-lane stretches of the highway, the DOT told the Sarasota-Manatee Metropolitan Organization after it asked whether the speed limit should be lowered.
The Sarasota County Commission, on its own and through the MPO, has asked whether the interstate's speed limit should be dropped to 60 mph.
The DOT advised against it.
Lowering the limit is likely to create "more conflict" among speeders and law-abiding drivers, DOT District Secretary Stanley Cann said. "There would be a higher propensity for accidents."
Counties have no authority to set speed limits on state or federal highways. The DOT's policy has been to set interstate speed limits at 65 or 70 mph.
The Sarasota commissioners have also asked county staff to look at several years of interstate accident data and determine whether speed or other factors are common causes.
Accidents frequently cause hours-long tie-ups on the highway. Motorists have only one other north-south thoroughfare through the two counties, U.S. 41 -- which becomes clogged when I-75 is blocked.
The DOT recently studied how drivers reacted to lower speed limits during construction along a 35-mile stretch of I-4 in Polk County. The limit there was temporarily lowered to 55 mph. Even so, the DOT reported, most motorists on that stretch of I-4 did not slow down.
FLFLHTC: Is it any surprise that we speed? |
