Mr. Clark, I have reviewed this case very carefully,"  the divorce court judge said, "and I've decided to give your wife $775 a week."
That's very fair, your Honor," the husband said.  And every now and then I'll try to send her a few bucks myself."

The correct response to the Irish greeting, "Top of the morning to you," is "and the rest of the day to yourself."

CLEVELAND - An ice cream deliveryman was in good condition after falling about 15 feet through a sidewalk into an underground vault, the Cleveland Plain-Dealer said. Author- ities said Neil Cowen was on his way back to his truck Thursday after delivering four 3-gallon tubs of Velvet Ice Cream to a Chardon Township hot dog shop when the cement sidewalk in front of the storefront gave way under his feet.
He plunged through the 6-inch slab of concrete and broke his leg in the fall. Rusted supports under the sidewalk appeared to have failed. "It just swallowed him up," said Mike Koszewski, owner of Mike's Wienery. "It looked like something out of a movie." Firefighters and paramedics took nearly 30 minutes to get Cowen out of the vault. The building was declared unsafe.
FLFLHTC: Now if this happened to me some smart ass would have mentioned my losing the battle of the bulge.

Clothes and transportation purchased by some high schoolers attending proms come close to the fanciness of a wedding. The New York Post reports some attending posh private schools in New York City are spending about $3,000 for the Big Night. The hot item this year is the 2004 34-foot Hummer 2 sport-utility vehicle/limousine -- that seats 18 and is complete with a PlayStation 2 and a flat-screen TV. It can cost $2,400 for a night. "The kids want to be like Britney, Jay-Z or Beyonce for the night," says Frank DeLuca, owner of Excalibur Extravaganza limousine in New York City, who's booked his super-sized Hummer for 21 proms this season.

IRELAND: Across northern Ireland now, bikers can use the bus lane for travel. What a great idea! Bikers here in the states have had access to High Occupancy Vehicle (HOV) "diamond lanes" for years to help ease congestion and give motorcyclists a safer place to ride.

Myers (Joint Chiefs Chairman Air Force Gen.) also addressed the idea that up-armored humvees do not provide enough protection to U.S. service members. According to Army sources, the reinforced vehicles include 200-pound steel-plated doors, steel plating under the cab and several layers of bonded, ballistic-resistant glass. The up-armored humvees provide protection from assault rifles, artillery airbursts and have front and rear anti-mine protection.

Myers said evidence shows the up-armored humvees do reduce injuries to service members hit by improvised explosive devices. But, he cautioned there is no vehicle - including an M-1A1 tank - that can entirely protect service members riding in it.

U.S. Central Command requested more up-armored humvees, and the Army ramped up production from 220 to 300 per month. Overall, CENTCOM wants 4,402 up-armored humvees in Iraq by the end of September 2004 and is on the way to making that goal.

The Army will continue buying the vehicles at the present rate through March 2005.

Wichita, KS -  Big Dog Motorcycles is celebrating their tenth year of operating this summer at the company's headquarters in Wichita, Kansas. The celebration, aptly named "Ten Years, One Party," will be held June 11-12 and is designed to appeal to the nation's Big Dog Motorcycle riders, motorcycling enthusiasts, or anyone interested in the high performance, custom cruiser industry.

FRONTENAC, Kansas - Rumbling motors could be heard on Sunday as hundreds of motorcycles herded into downtown Frontenac for the annual Blessing of the Bikes. Rev. Robert McElwee, who led the gang and wore riding boots beneath his vestments, offered prayer during the blessing. He sprinkled holy water as he weaved through over 1,5000 brightly painted motorcycles from as far away as Utah and Idaho. McElwee, an avid motor- cyclist, has seen the event grow from a small gathering after Sunday mass to a huge affair. "These machines are part of your unfolding creation," McElwee prayed before distributing 25 gallons of holy water. Newcomers Marcketta and Larry Gates had never been to such an event as Sunday's blessing. "I've never had our bike blessed. We thought we should," Marcketta Gates said.

AMSTERDAM — A group of naturists who plan to cycle naked through a Dutch city in June will do so without a permit from the city officials, it was announced Tuesday.

The event is the Dutch contribution to World Naked Bike Ride during which naturists will take to the streets on bicycles in cities across the globe "to celebrate the power and individuality of the human body".

The Dutch group objects to the principle of having to seek the permission of Apeldoorn city council for the event on
12 June, a spokesperson for the group told RTL News. "A school teacher does not apply for a permit when 30 pupils go out cycling," the spokesperson said.
