Breaking News: Chris Jericho Announces WWE Departure Story By: Ryan Clark From Jericho's official website:

"I eventually had my first match on Oct 2, 1990 in Ponoka, Alberta....and on August 22, 2005 in Hampton, Virginia, I had my last match. For now. Yes it's true. After months of speculation and rumors and numerous decoys and red herrings being thrown about, the official news from the boss man (me) is that I am leaving the WWE." Jericho noted that after wrestling for 15 years, he was mentally burnt out and that he is a "goal oriented person who thrives on a challenge and I'm not challenged by wrestling at this point in time," noting that he has accomplished everything he ever wanted to do in the business.

BRAC COMMISSION DECISIONS

On Thursday, I was pleased to announce more good news for Florida's military. The Base Realignment and Closure Commission decided to keep the Naval Ordnance Test Unit in Cape Canaveral. These facilities employ more than 750 dedicated staff who provide exceptional service to the United States military, and I am pleased they will continue to do so in Florida. I recognize the difficult decisions the Commissioners have had to make and I am thankful for their integrity and skill. I also commend the efforts of the Space Coast community for joining together to offer their unwavering support to these facilities. Overall, Florida now stands to gain about
3,600 military and civilian jobs, including significant expansions at Eglin Air Force Base and Naval Air Station Jacksonville. This is a great tribute not only to the excellent work these facilities are doing, but also the commitment to our military by all Floridians.

Angels seek probe of county officer
LACONIA — A lawyer representing the Hells Angels Motorcycle Club has asked Attorney General Kelly Ayotte to begin a criminal investigation and prosecution of a member of the Belknap County Sheriff's Department.

In an Aug. 23 letter to Ayotte from P. Scott Bratton on behalf of Dana Keefe, a Hells Angel who was denied a permit to carry a concealed weapon by Laconia Police Chief Tom Oetinger, Bratton asks the state to investigate the actions of Deputy Sgt. Christopher Cost.

On July 15, a day after a hearing in Laconia District Court on whether Oetinger's decision should be overturned, Justice David O. Huot recused himself from the case citing the receipt of two e-mail messages from Cost.

In the first e-mail, Cost — who as a member of the Laconia Police Department reported being assaulted by Hells Angels and suffering a concussion during Bike Week 1998 — wrote that Keefe had two convictions for issuing bad checks, although Oetinger later said that, in his opinion, that would not disqualify Keefe from getting the permit.

In the second e-mail Cost discussed a news article about a court decision in Ontario, Canada, involving the club.
Oetinger said what happened in a foreign country was inadmissible in court here.

Bratton, who on Thursday said he could not comment on his letter to Ayotte since it represented pending litigation, has previously said that what Cost did in sending the e-mails to Huot was improper because "the record was closed and no new evidence should be heard; and second, you can't communicate with the court without sending a copy" to the opposing counsel.

In his letter to Ayotte, however, Bratton, who has represented other members of the Hells Angels' New Hampshire chapter, which has a clubhouse on Fillmore Avenue in The Weirs, went one step further, saying what Cost did was illegal.

"There is no question that the actions of Sgt. Cost were grossly inappropriate," he writes. "Moreover, these actions were not only inappropriate, they were also criminal."

Bratton cites RSA 640:3 which reads, in part, that "A person is guilty of a class B felony if he ... Privately addresses any public servant who has or will have an official discretion in a judicial or administrative proceeding any representation, argument or other communication with the purpose of influencing that discretion on the basis of considerations other than those authorized by law... ."

"Clearly," Bratton concludes, "it was the specific intent of Sgt. Cost to improperly influence the court. The actions speak for themselves. Simply put, there is no other possible purpose for which the communications could have been made, other than to influence the court."

Storing Camping Coolers:
Before storing your coolers for winter, wash, dry and completely and fill with crumpled newspapers. This will eliminate musty odors and mildew. It also works for your camper refrigerators.

To prevent bacon from curling up when frying, make some small slits around the edges with a pair of scissors.
The bacon should remain flat and cook easily

BLUEBERRIES MAY CUT CHOLESTEROL

A compound in blueberries may lower cholesterol as well as a prescription drug and with fewer side effects, a U.S.
researcher says. Study leader Agnes M. Rimando, a chemist with the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Agricultural Research Service, says the compound, pterostilbene, an antioxidant similar to resveratrol found in grapes and red wine, has the potential to lower cholesterol, particularly for those who don't respond well to conventional drugs.
The same compound has been found to fight cancer and may have anti-diabetic properties as well. However, Rimando, who presented the finding to the national meeting of the American Chemical Society, cautions that until studies are conducted in humans, no one knows how many blueberries a person needs to eat to have a positive effect at lowering cholesterol.

WORD of the DAY

puerile \PYUR-ul\ adjective

1 : juvenile
*2 : childish, silly

Example sentence:
Beth's husband likes pulling puerile gags with handshake buzzers and dribble glasses.

Did you know?
"Puerile" may call to mind qualities of youth and immaturity, but the term itself is no spring chicken. On the contrary, it's been around for more than three centuries, and its predecessors in French and Latin, the adjectives "puéril" and "puerilis," respectively, are far older. Those two terms have the same basic meaning as the English word "puerile," and they both trace to the Latin noun "puer," meaning "boy" or "child." Nowadays, "puerile" can describe the acts or utterances of an actual child, but it more often refers (usually with marked disapproval) to occurrences of childishness where adult maturity would be expected or preferred.

*Indicates the sense illustrated in the example sentence.
