NAME: MURRAY "The Unknown Comic" LANGSTON
BORN: No info.
INFO: Murray had been a comic for a long time and had appeared in countless shows like "Laugh-In" and "Sonny & Cher". But it wasn't until he put a bag over his head, donned a plaid jacket with white buck shoes to become the Unknown Comic that his career took off and resulted in a huge cult following.
He did a lot of behind the scenes and comedy work after the Gong Show. In Las Vegas' and produced a cable show "The
Unknown Comedy Hour".
He wrote a couple screenplays starring Linda Blair: "Night Patrol" and "Up Your Alley", the former also starred Yakof Smirnoff and the latter starred Ruth Buzzi.
WHY THE UNKNOWN COMIC? The "Gong Show" was very popular and Murray decided to appear on it because he needed the money.
However, he didn't want his friends to know how desperate he had become, so in order to keep from being recognized...
he decided to place a "Paper Bag" over his head, memorized a few old jokes... and voila..."The Unknown Comic" was born.

WWE's fine structure for violating the dress code is $500 for the first offense, $1,000 for the second offense, and a suspension for the third offense. Rey Mysterio, D-Von Dudley, and other SmackDown! wrestlers have already report- edly received a fine for violating the code.
Wrestlers are beginning to get considerably angry with the dress code, especially since new evidence questions the
legality of the penalty for violations. Since a dress code was never mentioned in their contracts, wrestlers are cur- ious as to whether WWE is going beyond its legal scope in fining wrestlers, who are independent contractors and not "employees." "They're treating us more and more as employ- ees every day," says one wrestler. Management still remains firm behind the dress code, citing that it is not asking too much and that wrestlers were arriving to arenas in a very unprofessional state of fashion, so action had to be taken.
Despite a clear conflict of interest with his character, Undertaker is also required to obey the dress code.

Court releases documents in Smith murder case
NEVY KAMINSKI
Herald Staff Writer
SARASOTA - Members of the local media crowded into the State Attorney's Office in Sarasota this afternoon for the release of 526 pages of discovery material in the first-degree murder case of Joseph P. Smith.
Smith, 38, is the Sarasota man charged in connection with the kidnapping, rape and murder of 11-year-old Carlie Brucia in February.
The long-awaited documents were released after a three-month court battle between attorneys representing the media and Smith's attorney, Assistant Public Defender Adam
Tebrugge. Tebrugge originally asked Circuit Judge Andrew Owens to seal all the records and impose a gag order in the case.
The materials released today include the incident report, certain investigative reports, witness statements and transcripts of the 911 call.

Cemetery embraces environmentalism The Daphne Fernwood Cemetery in Mill Valley, Tenn., soon to be renamed Forever Fermwood, will be a green cemetery. The San Francisco Chronicle reported Sunday the 32-acre cemetery will holdtraditional funerals and cremation scatterings, however most burials will prohibit embalming, allow only biodegradable caskets will be allowed. Headstones will also be avoided in favor of natural grave markers using shrubs, trees or boulders. "It will be a nature preserve that happens to sell interment rights," said Joe Sehee, an expert on socially responsible business. "The concept is to sell interment rights on 5 percent of the land and use the endowment from that 5 percent to preserve the rest as open space. In essence, we will use existing cemetery law to conserve land and protect it in perpetuity with a conservation easement." The plan is to restore the native habitat of the cemetery area, create an interpretive center and have the whole area open to hikers, nature lovers, and children -- as well as being available for birthing and wedding ceremonies.
