Knowing the inevitable does not make it
easier to accept. This story disgusts me. PIERRE, S.D. (AP) — The State Bar's Disciplinary Board has recommended that former South Dakota Gov. and U.S. Rep. Bill Janklow should regain his license to practice law next February. If the state Supreme Court accepts that recommendation, it would mean Janklow would be reinstated to practice law about a year before his probation ends for second-degree manslaughter and other convictions related to an August 2003 crash that killed a motorcycle driver from Minnesota. The state's highest court will have the final say on when Janklow can resume the practice of law, but it has not yet set a hearing date in the case. Janklow's law license was automatically suspended after he was convicted of second-degree manslaughter for killing Randy Scott, 55, of Hardwick, Minn. Scott's motorcycle collided with a car Janklow was driving near Trent. Janklow also was convicted of speeding, running a stop sign and reckless driving. A circuit judge gave Janklow a suspended imposition of sentence, which means the manslaughter conviction will be erased if he complies with all terms of his three-year probation. He also served 100 days in jail. Janklow is seeking to have his law license reinstated. The Disciplinary Board said Janklow is remorseful for the fatal crash and would not present a danger to clients if he resumed practicing law. |

| Subject: Colors of Uniforms We should remember the origins, history and tradition of the uniforms we all wore with pride, including those of other countries involved in our Wars. For example, a long time ago, Britain and France were at war. During one battle, the French captured an English colonel. Taking him to their headquarters, the French general began to question him. Finally, as an afterthought, the French general asked, "Why do you English officers all wear red coats? Don't you know the red material makes you easier targets for us to shoot at?" In his bland English way, the colonel informed the general that the reason English officers wear red coats are so that if they are shot, the blood won't show and the men they are leading won't panic. And that is why, from that day to this, all French Army officers wear brown pants. |

I just got my new Lexus RX400h, and returned to the dealer the next day, complaining that I couldn't figure out how the radio worked. The salesman explained that the radio was voice activated. Watch this! he said.."Nelson!" The radio replied, "Ricky or Willie?" "Willie!" he continued....and On The Road Again came from the speakers. I drove away happy, and for the next few days, every time I'd say, "Beethoven!" I'd get beautiful classical music, and if I said, "Beatles!" I'd get one of their awesome songs. One day, a couple ran a red light and nearly creamed my new car, but I swerved in time to avoid them. "ASS-HOLES!" I yelled..... The French National Anthem began to play, sung by Jane Fonda and Michael Moore, backed up by John Kerry on guitar, Al Gore on drums and Bill Clinton on sax.... I LOVE this car !!!!!!!!! |

The second engineer replied, "Well, I was walking along yesterday minding my own business when a beautiful woman rode up on this bike. She threw the bike to the ground, took off all her clothes and said, "Take what you want." "The second engineer nodded approvingly, "Good choice; the clothes probably wouldn't have fit." TALLAHASSEE – Florida’s oldest aquatic preserve gained additional protection last week when the State of Florida and Lee County officially closed on the historic Boomer Estate. The purchase, worth $14.5 million, adds 104 acres to the Estero Bay Florida Forever project and expands the buffer of natural lands to the 10,000-acre Estero Bay Buffer Preserve in Lee County. “The protection of Florida’s oldest and most productive aquatic preserve is vital to our economy and our environment,” said Secretary Castille. “Acquiring more land to buffer Estero Bay improves water quality, conserves habitat and increases protection for wildlife and archaeological sites.” The estate was built by the Koreshans for Berthaldine Boomer, a benefactor of the original Koreshan settlement. The property includes nearly a half mile of shoreline along the Estero River and is a partnership between the State of Florida and Lee County. The State’s portion of the project will be managed by the DEP’s Division of Recreation and Parks as an addition to the Koreshan State Historic Site. Designated in 1966, Estero Bay is Florida’s first aquatic preserve. Mangroves along the bay's banks provide nesting areas for water birds and offer protection for important recreational and commercial fisheries. Archeological remains of the Calusa Indians are also found throughout the area. When complete, the 15,572-acre Estero Bay Florida Forever project will protect the bay’s water quality, archaeological sites and native plants and wildlife, including the bald eagle, gopher tortoise and sandhill crane. More than 9,000 acres are already in public ownership. The 10-year, $3 billion Florida Forever program established by Governor Bush and the Florida Legislature conserves environmentally sensitive land, restores waterways and preserves important cultural and historical resources. |

| Bikernews.net California - A motorcycle club member suspected of repeatedly sexually abusing a child over the course of 8 years led deputies on a high-speed pursuit through the Cajon Pass Tuesday night. Vincent Lopez, 43, of Victorville pulled his vehicle over on the 210 Freeway in San Dimas and surrendered after reaching speeds more than 120 mph and sporadically pointing a handgun at officers and at himself, officials said. Earlier Tuesday afternoon, a 16-year-old girl and her mother made a report at the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Victorville station that Lopez had been sexually abusing her over the past 8 years. "(Detective James Wiebeld) did a preliminary investigation and felt strongly enough that he had enough evidence ... that an arrest of Lopez was imminent," spokeswoman Shelly Williams from the Victorville station said. Detectives then arranged for Lopez's wife to contact him for a meeting at the 76 gas station at Mojave Street and La Paz Drive, which he agreed to, Williams said. Around 11:05 p.m., detectives spotted Lopez and attempted to make contact with him, and Lopez drove away, beginning the chase, Williams said. As Lopez drove south on Interstate 15, followed by detectives Wiebeld and John Wickum, several marked units from the Victorville sheriff's station, Rancho Cucamonga Police Department, the California Highway Patrol and a sheriff's helicopter joined the pursuit. During that time Lopez threw unidentified items out of his vehicle at the officials and produced a handgun that he pointed both at police and himself. "They were close enough to him to see that. They kept behind him, but they saw him pointing (the gun)," Williams said. Eventually, around 2:18 a.m. Wednesday, Lopez pulled over near the Sunflower exit in San Dimas and was arrested, Williams said. "He surrendered; there was a helicopter over head and he knew he wasn't getting away. You can't get inside his head, but for whatever reason he surrendered," she said. Lopez was also found to be a known member of the Chosen Few Motorcycle club. He was arrested on suspicion of continuing sexual acts with a minor and felony evading. He was booked into West Valley Detention Center with bail set at $250,000, Williams said. |
