LAS VEGAS -- Videotape images show rival motorcycle gang members wielding guns, knives, wrenches and chairs in a brawl that killed three and injured at least a dozen in a southern Nevada casino in 2002.

The footage is among hundreds of hours of videotape jurors may view during the trial of 11 Hells Angels charged in the deadly casino brawl.

Federal prosecutors are expected on Tuesday to tell jurors that the bikers plotted to attack the rival Mongols gang at the Harrah's Laughlin hotel-casino after years of friction erupted into violence at a crowded motorcycle rally.

They are the first of 42 men - from California, Washington, Arizona, Alaska and Nevada, and ranging in age from
28 to 63 - to stand trial in the brawl. All face the possibility of life in prison if convicted of the most serious charge, racketeering-attempted murder.

Each has pleaded not guilty, and defense lawyers say the men will argue they were attacked first.

"The tapes are going to reveal clearly that the Hells Angels were threatened and were engaged in lawful self-defense," said lawyer David Chesnoff, who represents defendant Calvin Schaefer of Chandler, Ariz.

Chesnoff has argued previously that police knew trouble was brewing and federal agents missed a chance to prevent violence at the 2002 Laughlin rally, an annual event that draws tens of thousands of motorcycle enthusiasts to the Colorado River resort town about 100 miles southeast of Las Vegas.

Two Hells Angels were shot to death and a Mongols member died of stab wounds at the event. Another Hells Angels member was later found shot to death near his wrecked Harley-Davidson motorcycle on Interstate 40 in California, about 100 miles from Laughlin.

Court officials say the trial could take three months or more, with 11 defense lawyers questioning witnesses.

Federal prosecutors declined comment Monday through a spokeswoman for the U.S. Attorney's Office in Las Vegas.

One defendant in the case remains a fugitive.

Cut a hole in the center of the lid just a bit larger than the head of the nail. Now use the lid as a safety shield while driving in the nail.

Fink's bail revoked (Australia)

27Sep06
FIVE bikies will face the Supreme Court over the infamous brawl that broke out during a kickboxing match at the Royal Pines Resort in March.

There was a strong police presence at the Southport Magistrates Court yesterday where Finks members Shane Scott Bowden, Gregory John Keating, Nicholas John Forbes, Tyson James Ward and Ross Glen Thomas appeared.

Mr. Bowden, 34, was remanded in custody after having his bail revoked.

He showed little emotion, giving fellow Finks Mr. Forbes, 37, and Mr. Keating, 27, a quick embrace before being taken to the watchhouse.

Magistrate Ron Kilner decided to revoked Mr. Bowden's bail after viewing enhanced video footage of the melee, in which Mr. Bowden allegedly fired two shots.

Police prosecutors also tried to have Mr. Forbes's bail revoked, but he was allowed to continue his bail with an increased surety.

Defense solicitor Jason Jacobson - acting for Mr. Bowden, Mr. Forbes and Mr. Keating - and defense solicitor Bill Potts - for Mr. Ward, 29, and Mr. Thomas, 32 - said there was a 'prima facie' case and consented to their clients being committed to a higher court.

Mr. Kilner committed all five men to face the Supreme Court on a date to be fixed.

Police prosecutor Sergeant Eric Engwirda opposed bail for Mr. Forbes and Mr. Bowden, showing the court slowed-down and zoomed footage of the brawl between the Finks and the Hells Angels.

He said surveillance footage showed the pair walking into the resort and about 43 alleged Finks members also entering.

He said Mr. Forbes then went up to Christopher Wayne Hudson, of the Hells Angels, and tried to get him to leave with him.

Sgt Engwirda alleged Mr Bowden shot Mr. Hudson in the jaw and lower side of the back and Mr. Forbes hit him a number of times with a glass.

He said in the slowed footage a weapon could not be seen, but a 'multiple flash' consistent with Mr. Hudson's reaction was evident.

"The muzzle flashes become clearer as they are slowed down," said Sgt Engwirda.

He said it appeared the first shots had been fired by the Hells Angels, but the Finks members had allegedly gone to the venue and were the 'aggressors'.

Mr. Jacobson argued the issue of bail had already been determined and the charges and allegations had not changed since then.

He said both men had met their bail conditions, surrendered themselves to police and had shown they would come to court when required.

"In effect the strength of the evidence is not particularly increased, just shown in a slower form," he said.

He also argued the alleged victim, Mr. Hudson, had not provided a statement to police and was not in court, despite being summonsed.

Mr. Kilner said the allegations were concerning and the violence depicted was 'excessive violence, if not gratuitous violence'.

"The video shows the prosecution has a strong case," he said.

He revoked bail for Mr. Bowden but allowed Mr. Forbes to continue his bail with a surety increased from $7500 to $40,000.

More than 100 statements from witnesses and police officers were tendered to the court. The gangs have different court dates.
Inexpensive Door Repair:
1. Twice a year, check every screw on every hinge of every door in your house. This will prevent pre-mature wear and tear.

2. When you remove the door for hinge repair, be sure and label each side of the door and each hinge.

The next time that you go shopping, you may want to check the prices of what your shampoo and conditioner costs versus a All-in-One shampoo and conditioner.
Depending on the brands, you might be able to save some money buying the All-in-one. You can also save time in the shower, as an added benefit, which will cut down on your hot water costs and your water bill.
It's also nice when traveling. You only have to find room for one instead of two.
Subject: My new Car
I bought a new 2006 BMW and returned to the dealer the next day complaining that I couldn't figure out how the radio worked. The salesman explained that the radio was voice activated. "Watch this!", he said, "Nelson"! The Radio replied, "Ricky or Willie?" Willie!" He continued and "On The Road Again" came from the speakers.

Then he said, "Ray Charles!", and in an instant "Georgia On My Mind"
replaced Willie Nelson.

I drove away happy, and for the next few days, every time I'd say, "Beethoven," I'd get beautiful classical music, and if I said, "Beatles,"
I'd get one of their awesome songs.

Yesterday, a couple ran a red light and nearly creamed my new car, but I swerved in time to avoid them. I yelled, "Ass Holes!"

Immediately the French National Anthem began to play, sung by Jane Fonda and Barbara Streisand, backed up by Michael Moore and The Dixie Chicks, with John Kerry on guitar, Al Gore on drums, Dan Rather on harmonica, Nancy Pelosi on tamborine, Harry Reid on spoons, Bill Clinton on sax and Ted Kennedy on scotch.

Dang, I LOVE this car!

To achieve fresher air in the house without paying a fortune for canned spray, squeeze a few drops of a fresh lemon into the dust bag of your vacuum.

As I walked down the busy footpath, knowing I was late for an important meeting, my eye fell upon one of those unfortunate, homeless vagabonds that are found in every city these days.
Wearing what can only be describes as rags, carrying every worldly possession in two plastic bags, my heart was touched by this persons condition.
Some people turned to stare. Others quickly looked away as if the sight would somehow contaminate them.
Recalling some long ago Sunday School admonition to "care for the sick, feed the hungry and clothe the naked," I was moved by some powerful inner urge to reach out to this unfortunate person.
Yes, where some people saw only rags, I saw a hidden beauty.
A small voice inside my head called out, "Reach out, reach out!"cheeks after.JPG (102701 bytes)

Since 9/11 Muslims have committed terrorist attacks in Afghanistan, Algeria, Bangladesh, Belgium, Chad, Chechnya, Dagestan, Denmark, East Timor, Egypt, England, Eritrea, Ethiopia, France, Germany, India, Indonesia, Ingushetia, Iran, Iraq, Israel, Jordan, Jordan-Iraq, Kabardino-Balkans, Kenya, Kosovo, Kuwait, Kyrgyzstan, Lebanon, Mauritania, Morocco, Netherlands, Nigeria, Pakistan, Gaza-Palestinian Authority, Philippines, Qatar, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Scotland, Somalia, Spain, Sri Lanka, Sudan, Syria, Tajikistan, Thailand, Tunisia, Turkey, United Arab Emirates, United Arab Republic, United States, Uzbekistan and Yemen, and still expect no criticism.

Muslims have carried out over 5,800 fatal terrorist atrocities since
9/11, and countless thousands since Islamic conquest began in 623 AD and expect no criticism.

But if a Pope dares to tell the truth about Islam or Danes publish cartoons about Mohammed, then let the outpourings of Islamic hate and outrage begin.

And, by some twisted reach of logic, the arrogant bastards demand the Pope issue an apology.
